Young Windsorite Launches Hats For Cuddles

Yards of yarn have been turned into treasures for new families.

Ten-year-old Zoha Awan has launched 'Hats for Cuddles'.

The young Windsorite and her siblings have been spending their summer vacation knitting hats for newborns.

She tells CTV Windsor you're never too young to make a difference.

"When I first did it and I made my first hat, I just loved it so much. I hope that when a family gets them they feel that their child has a warm, cuddly, colourful hat to wear."

She hopes families hold on to the hats forever.

"It's a small gesture, but I've made a memory because some people hold on to it and I've made a memory and it's just so meaningful to me."

Awan and her family have already knit over 200 hats and have received an appreciation letter from Mayor Drew Dilkens.

They recently dropped some off at Windsor Regional Hospital and plan to take 'Hats for Cuddles' on the road for a special delivery in London on August 9.
