911 call helps ground search and rescue find missing person near Shelburne
A pair of Ground Search and Rescue crews helped locate a person who became separated from a group who were four-wheeling back to their camp near Shelburne.
The RCMP was contacted Monday night and the group searched for their friend in the Upper Clyde River area, but were unsuccessful.
Shelburne County Ground Search and Rescue was deployed and searched the area throughout the night and into the morning, with Yarmouth County Ground Search and Rescue continuing the search Tuesday morning with the help of ATV's and a helicopter.
The person made a 911 call with their cell phone around 10:30 a.m., which helped crews determine their location.
The helicopter was used to retrieve the person and safely remove them from the woods.
