Advanced poll being held in Parrsboro ahead of Cumberland South by-election

An advanced poll is taking place in Parrsboro ahead of the Cumberland South by-election on June 19th.

The poll will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the St. George's Anglican Hall at 23 Church Street.

It will open again on Monday and continue until next Saturday, June 16th, with hours extended until 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.

Community polls are also scheduled in Brookdale and Wentworth Centre on June 15th and 16th.

The four candidates who are in the running to become the MLA for Cumberland South include Bruce W. McCulloch of the Green Party, Scott Lockhart of the Liberals, Larry Duchesne of the NDP, and Tory Rushton of the Progressive Conservatives.

Jamie Baillie resigned as PC party leader and Cumberland South MLA back in January, after an investigation found he acted inappropriately and breached the legislature's policy on workplace harassment.
