Antigonish centre receives funding to address, prevent sexual assault on campuses

Central Nova MP Sean Fraser has announced nearly $200,000 over two years to help prevent and address sexual assault on post-secondary campuses.

The funding will help the Antigonish Women’s Resource Centre & Sexual Assault Services Association to continue to offer a program called Waves of Change: Creating Campus Responses to Sexualized Violence.

Government says students will learn various techniques to intervene as bystanders, support victims, and create social change.

The federal backing will enable the centre to work closely with post-secondary institutions in Nova Scotia and student union representatives on this issue.
