Applications open in Nova Scotia for 2018 antlerless deer draw
Hunters in Nova Scotia can now apply for an antlerless deer hunting stamp for the 2018 hunting season.
There are 5,000 antlerless deer hunting stamps available this year.
When applied to a valid deer hunting licence, the stamp gives the hunter permission to harvest in the deer management zone specified on the stamp.
Government says offering stamps through a limited-entry draw is a major part of sustainably managing the deer population.
Information from harvest data submitted by hunters, deer biological samples, and nuisance deer complaints are gathered each year to determine the number of stamps that will be issued in each zone.
The deadline for applications is August 31st and the draw will take place on September 1st.
