Arrests made following Antigonish County carjacking

Two men have been arrested, and RCMP are attempting to find a third, after a carjacking in Tracadie.

The Antigonish District RCMP responded to the scene on Highway 4 around 3 a.m. Thursday after a call in which the dispatcher heard a woman screaming and tires squealing.

Officers located a man and a woman who told them three men had taken their car at knifepoint after a physical altercation, and the RCMP say it was located abandoned in the Pomquet area.

The vehicle has since been transported to the Inverness District Detachment for a forensic examination.

The knife used to threaten the victims has been located by police.

The RCMP say the man was seriously injured while the woman sustained minor injuries.
