Barney's River fire chief vows to keep pressure on for highway twinning

The fire chief in Barney's River is calling on the public to continue to push MLAs, government, and election candidates to ensure this week's highway twinning announcement is supported and undertaken.

In an editorial sent to a number of media outlets, Joe MacDonald thanks the public and government for their overwhelming support.

MacDonald has long advocated for highway twinning between Sutherlands River and Antigonish, which was one of the sections the province announced earlier this week that would be twinned.

He says this project is "a major hurdle to make sure that our loved ones who travel this stretch of highway daily get home safely".

MacDonald says they'll continue to push the issue until the highway twinning becomes a reality.
