Black Cultural Centre receives provincial funding for repairs

The Black Cultural Centre in Cherry Brook is getting some much-needed repairs thanks in part to provincial funding.

The Nova Scotia government announced Friday that it will provide $230,000 to the centre.

Officials say the money will be used for upgrades to the centre's heating and energy system, as well as other major facility repairs.

Opened in 1983, the centre houses a museum and hosts cultural and educational events such as concerts, plays, workshops and lectures.
