Boil water advisory in Falmouth
A boil water advisory is in effect for the Falmouth Water Utility until further notice.
The Municipality of the District of West Hants says the advisory was put in place yesterday morning due to possible contamination of the Falmouth public drinking water supply.
The utility is working with the Department of Environment and the Medical Officer of Health to monitor the water quality closely and determine the cause.
In an update this morning, the municipality says if all tests come back as required by the province the earliest they could lift the advisory is Friday afternoon.
Residents are asked to boil all water for two minutes before drinking, making ice cubes, washing foods, brushing teeth, or any other activity requiring consumption.
