Bridgewater man killed in Highway 103 collision
The RCMP say a collision involving a small car and a tractor trailer on Highway 103 Thursday night has claimed the life of a 38-year-old man from Bridgewater.
Police were called to the scene between Exits 12 and 13 just before 7 p.m. and say the westbound car crossed the centre line into the path of the eastbound tractor trailer.
The driver, and lone occupant of the car, died at the scene while the driver of the truck sustained minor injuries.
Highway 103 was closed between those two exits for several hours into late Friday morning, with traffic being diverted to Highway 3.
Volunteer firefighters and the Bridgewater Police Service assisted Lunenburg District RCMP at the scene.
