Canada to face Puerto Rico in East Hants boxing events this weekend
Four-time Canadian boxing champion Wyatt Sanford from Kennetcook, and five other members of the Canadian National Boxing Team, will be competing against Team Puerto Rico in East Hants this weekend.
The dual match tournament will see the two countries to compete for points towards their ranking/seeding for upcoming competitions like the world championships or Olympic qualifiers.
The action kicks off at 7 p.m. at the East Hants Sportsplex and continues Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Hants North Rec Association's Findley Park in Noel Road.
Sunday's action is an open-air show, so attendees are asked to bring their own chair.
National team boxers will face the same opponents on Friday and on Sunday to earn their points, and there will also be around six bouts featuring local talent.
Advance tickets are $50 per adult and include both shows, while tickets at the door are $30 per show for adults and $15 per show for students.
