Canadian Red Cross announces recipients of 2017 Humanitarian Awards for Nova Scotia

The Canadian Red Cross has announced the recipients of the 2017 Humanitarian awards for Nova Scotia.

Business leaders Paul, Frank and Rob Sobey will be co-recipients of its 2017 Humanitarian Award.

A news release from the organization says they have won the award because of their family tradition of improving lives by supporting several health, education, cultural, and community causes.

The release also says 16-year-old Cheyenne Hardy, who is from Dartmouth, will receive the 2017 Young Humanitarian Award for her campaigns against the stigmatization of her community and community violence.

The awards will be given to the recipients at the Power of Humanity dinner on November 2nd.
