Cape Breton fire displaces family of 4

A family of four escaped injury after fire ripped through their bungalow in Cape Breton.

The blaze broke out on Highway 247 in St. Peter's, about 30 minutes east of Port Hawkesbury, around 7:30 a.m. Sunday.

The Canadian Red Cross says a couple and their two daughters, aged 11 and 12, were displaced by the fire.

The organization arranged emergency lodging, food and clothing purchases for the family.

No word on what caused the fire.
