Charges against former Waycobah First Nation chief referred to restorative justice program
Charges of assault and causing a disturbance against an Atlantic regional chief with the Assembly of First Nations have been referred to the restorative justice program.
Joseph Wayne Morley Googoo is charged with assault and causing a disturbance by arguing and fighting in hallway at a hotel in Membertou on June 17th.
Googoo, a former chief of the Waycobah First Nation, is to return to provincial court October 30th for update on his progress in the program.
The restorative justice program is an alternative to the regular court process.
