Charges laid in East Pubnico incident

The RCMP has laid charges of aggravated assault and breach of probation following an incident in East Pubnico.

Yarmouth Rural RCMP responded to a call around 8:07 p.m. on Sunday of a man found on the ground outside a home, suffering from a knife wound to his back.

Police say the victim was transported to hospital via LifeFlight, where he remains and is recovering from his injuries.

Twenty-eight-year-old Dustin Kempton Crowell of Clyde River was arrested shortly after the incident was reported and police laid charges.

Crowell was held in custody overnight and is appearing in Yarmouth Provincial Court on Tuesday.
