Christopher Garnier hearing for alleged breach of release conditions continues

A hearing continues Wednesday on whether bail should be revoked for a Nova Scotia man awaiting trial in the death of an off-duty Truro police officer.

A Nova Scotia Supreme Court hearing began Tuesday in Halifax for Christopher Garnier, who was arrested in Cape Breton in February and remains in custody after police said they could not locate him at either of the two places where he was allowed to live under conditions of his release.

Proceedings are under a publication ban, but Cape Breton and Halifax regional police officers, as well as Garnier's uncle and girlfriend, were among those who testified Tuesday.

Garnier's father was removed from court after a sheriff believed he was attempting to communicate with his wife while she was testifying.
