Colchester East Hants Hospice marking National Hospice Palliative Care Week with local events
The Colchester East Hants Hospice is marking National Hospice Palliative Care Week with several activities and events.
A news release from Colchester East Hants Hospice Society says the theme of the week, "Towards a more compassionate Canada, Eh?," aims to encourage Canadians to consider ways community involvement can support the dying and bereavement process.
Craig Johnson, the Colchester East Hants Hospice Executive Director, says they've created a week of community events that aim to raise awareness about compassionate communities and end of life care.
Some of the events include information sessions, Death Café's, a Film Night at NovelTea, a panel discussion on Historical and Cultural Perspectives on Death, Dying, and Grief at the Colchester Historeum, and a Variety Show at the First United Church.
National Hospice Palliative Care Week begins Sunday and continues until May 12th.
