Colchester Food Bank to move into new, permanent home this month

The Colchester Food Bank is moving into its new building later this month.

The food bank will open its doors at 580 Prince Street on Monday, January 28.

The current location at the corner of Esplanade and Forrester will be closed the week of January 21-25 for the move.

The food bank plans to hold an Open House at its new home once the move is complete, but details are still be worked out.

Local businessman Joe Pinto built the new food bank on his property and is selling it to the not-for-profit for $600,000, plus HST.

Colchester Food Bank board chair Don Reid had previously said the board worked with Pinto on the design of the building, which includes 3,000 square feet of food storage space, client waiting room and offices.
