Comfort centres open to help people still without power
The province's emergency management office says eight comfort centres have been set up in northern mainland Nova Scotia to help the many people still without power from Thursday's storm.
Comfort centres have been set up at the fire halls in Tatamagouche, River Hebert, Wentworth, Amherst and Parrsboro.
There are also comfort centres at the Wallace Community Centre, Tidnish Community Centre and the First Baptist Church in Amherst.
The centres can be used to warm up and even recharge your phones and tablets.
At one point Thursday, almost 250,000 NSP customers were without power.
There are still several thousand people waiting for their power to be restored.
