Court set to hear Nova Scotia Health Authority's appeal of $1.4 million judgement
A court will hear the Nova Scotia Health Authority's appeal of a $1.4 million judgement awarded to a Halifax cardiology researcher Tuesday.
A Supreme Court jury awarded the sum to Doctor Gabrielle Horne in June 2016 after finding that the health authority harmed her reputation and derailed her career.
She launched the case in 2002 after a spat over her research on the mechanical differences in patients with heart muscle problems, and the lawsuit dragged on for 14 years.
The Nova Scotia Court of Appeal has set aside two days for the case.
