Cumberland County ER closures: April 7-13

Another round of temporary emergency room closures is underway in Cumberland County this week due to what the Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) says is a lack of physician coverage.

According to the province, the Emergency Department at All Saints Springhill Collaborative Emergency Centre will be shut down during the day as follows:

  • Monday, April 8 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Wednesday, April 10 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 11 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Friday, April 12 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 13 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The government says the Emergency Room at the North Cumberland Collaborative Emergency Centre in Pugwash will be closed during the day for the following days and times:

  • Sunday, April 7 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Monday, April 8 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Tuesday, April 9 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Wednesday, April 10 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 11 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Friday, April 12 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.  
  • Saturday, April 13 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The provincial health authority is alerting the public that the Emergency Department at the South Cumberland Collaborative Emergency Centre in Parrsboro will not be accepting patients at the following times this week:

  • Sunday, April 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Monday, April 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

All three emergency rooms will be open during overnight hours, from 8 p.m. until 8 a.m. the following day, with coverage provided by the paramedic/registered nurse/oversight physician team.
