Dartmouth man facing several charges following vehicle theft, robbery & assault

A Dartmouth man is facing several charges, including robbery and assault.

Halifax Regional Police say a vehicle was stolen from a Dartmouth residence on March 29, by a man known to the owner.

Later that night, police received a report from the Burnside jail for the same man, who had failed to show up for a court-ordered intermittent jail sentence.

The following day, police were notified of a robbery on Dartmouth's Victoria Rd, where a man was assaulted by another man known to him.

Police say the suspect was identified as the same man from the two previous incidents.

Last Thursday, April 4, officers arrested 38-year-old Jeffery Clair Brightman in Highfield Park.

Brightman's been charged with being unlawfully at large, robbery, assault, taking a motor vehicle without consent, theft under $5000 and breach of probation.
