DFO reports smaller wash-ups of dead herring

The Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) says they've identified a few new wash-ups of dead herring in southwestern Nova Scotia.

In an update Tuesday morning via Twitter, DFO says the majority of existing dead herring are still located from the mouth of the Sissiboo River to Plymton-Barton.

However, the agency says the new wash-ups haven't been as large as those previously reported.

DFO says recent patrols confirm that most beaches from Tusket to inner St. Mary’s Bay are clear.
