Discoloured water continues to plague Halifax Water customers

Halifax Water customers are continuing to struggle with discoloured water, although the number of complaints is dropping.

The municipal water commission says the reports of discoloured water in the Bedford, Sackville and Waverley areas has dropped over the last 48 hours.

Spokesman James Campbell says in a statement the problem is the result of a valve malfunction on a water transmission main that occurred Monday.

He says crews continue to actively sample and flush the system throughout the affected areas and the water remains safe to drink.
