DNR, police track moose in New Glasgow area
**Updated at 10:12 a.m.**
Police and the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) are tracking a moose that was spotted in the New Glasgow area early Wednesday morning.
In an update just before 10 a.m., New Glasgow Regional Police said the moose had been tranquilized and officials were assessing the scene.
Chestnut and Parkview Streets were closed to traffic and pedestrians an hour earlier.
DNR staff have recently attempted to encourage the young bull moose to leave the area with the use of deterrent measures.
The moose, which officials have said is around two-years-old, has drawn a lot of attention over the past few weeks as it's wandered along some of the main roads in and around the town.
