Drug-related charges laid after two separate traffic stops in Cape Breton

A pair of unrelated traffic stops have led to drug-related charges against two men.

RCMP conducted a traffic stop on 74th Street in Eskasoni First Nation on Monday night and seized cocaine and marijuana.

A 31-year-old Eskasoni man faces charges of possession of cocaine and marijuana, and is due in court on September 26th.

Then around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Inverness County District RCMP seized dexamphetamine, codeine, brass knuckles, and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop on Highway 104 in Port Hastings.

Charges against 36-year-old Sean Dale Simon of Port Hawkesbury include possession of both dexamphetamine and codeine for the purpose of trafficking, and two weapons-related offences.

He's due in court on September 25th.
