Drug trafficking charges laid in Amherst

Police have laid drug trafficking charges against two people after Amherst Police Department and Cumberland District RCMP searched a home on Kent Drive on Wednesday.

Officers seized prescription medications, hydromorphone, dextroamphetamine, clonazepam, and methadone, along with methamphetamine, marijuana, and cannabis resin.

RCMP say cash, scales, weapons, "and other items indicative of drug trafficking" were also seized.

Thirty-three-year-old Justin John Arseneau and 22-year-old Norissa Epton were arrested and each faces nine charges, including six for drug trafficking.

The pair were released on conditions after an appearance in Amherst Provincial Court today and are due back on May 2nd.
