Eleven people arrested following three-month drug trafficking investigation in Lunenburg County

A three-month investigation by the RCMP has led to the arrest of eleven people and multiple drug and weapons charges.

Operation Halse, led by Lunenburg District RCMP with the assistance of Bridgewater Town Police, targeted the trafficking of cocaine and prescription pills in Lunenburg County.

RCMP say there were approximately 25 officers involved in an operation that began due to concerns in the community about these drugs.

The men and women arrested range in age from 25 to 58-years-old and RCMP say one of them, 28-year-old Timothy Charles MacKenzie of Hammonds Plains, has already been sentenced to 42 months in prison.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional arrests are expected.
