Emergency Room closures in Colchester and Cumberland County: March 3-10

The Nova Scotia Health Authority has announced the following temporary closures for emergency rooms in Colchester and Cumberland County.

The emergency room at the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital in Tatamagouche will be closed as follows:
- Sunday March 3: 8 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

The emergency department at the South Cumberland Collaborative Emergency Centre in Parsborro will be shut down on the following days:
- Sunday March 3: 8:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
- Monday March 4: 8:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
- Tuesday March 5: 8:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
- Friday March 8: 8:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
- Saturday March 9: 8:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.

The emergency room at All Saints Springhill Collaborative Emergency Centre in Springhill will be unavailable to patients as follows:
- Monday March 4: 8 a.m. - 8 a.m.
- Tuesday March 5: 8 a.m. - 8 a.m.
- Thursday March 7: 8 a.m. - 8 a.m.
- Friday March 8: 8 a.m. - 8 a.m.
- Saturday March 9: 8 a.m. - 8 a.m.

The emergency department at the North Cumberland Collaborative Emergency Centre in Pugwash is closed as follows:
- Tuesday March 5: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
- Wednesday March 6: 8 a.m. - 8 a.m.
- Thursday March 7: 8 a.m. - 8 a.m.
- Friday March 8: 8 a.m. - 8 a.m.

The provincial health authority says the daytime closures are due to a shortage of doctor's coverage.

All four emergency departments will be available overnight.
