Environment Canada issues statement on Tropical Storm Chris
Environment Canada says Tropical Storm Chris has formed off the coast of Carolina.
It says the storm is expected to remain somewhat stationary and become better organized over the next few days.
By late Tuesday or early Wednesday the storm could attain hurricane status, possibly approaching Nova Scotia by Thursday, but likely weakening as it does so.
Environment Canada says there is uncertainty at this time regarding the forecast track and the intensity of the system.
The statement has been issued for parts of New Brunswick, including Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick, parts of Prince Edward Island, and all of Nova Scotia.
The Canadian Hurricane Centre is set to continue monitoring the storm.
