Fatal collision in Antigonish County

A 55-year-old man from Monastery has died following injuries sustained in a single-vehicle collision Wednesday morning.

Antigonish District RCMP responded to a 911 call around 8:19 a.m. after the incident on East Tracadie Road.

Police say the victim, who was alone in the vehicle, was resuscitated at the scene and transported to hospital, but died on Thursday.

An RCMP Collision Analyst was called to the scene, resulting in the closure of the road for several hours.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
