Fatal crash on Highway 101

A two-vehicle crash on Highway 101 has claimed the life of a Nova Scotia woman.

The crash happened around 1:45 p.m. Tuesday in Gilbert's Cove, Digby County.

The RCMP say one vehicle crossed the centre line and collided with the other vehicle.

The driver of one-vehicle, a 44-year-old New Edinburgh man was airlifted to Halifax with serious injuries.

His passenger, a 41-year-old woman from New Edinburgh, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and lone occupant of the other vehicle was taken to Digby hospital with minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
