Fire causes minimal damage to Truro's Stonehouse Motel Restaurant & Lounge

Truro Fire Chief Blois Currie says an early evening fire at the Stonehouse Motel Restaurant & Lounge has caused minimal damage.

Currie tells our newsroom firefighters were alerted to the fire shortly after 8 p.m. Monday.

He says it started in a dry, mulched area near the restaurant, which then spread to the outer part of the building.

Currie says there is some damage to part of the wall because firefighters had to take it apart to make sure the fire was out.

There's no official word on the cause of the fire and no injuries.
