For the first time, Canadian bank note will feature indigenous Canadian and woman other than Queen

For the first time, a Canadian bank note will feature an indigenous Canadian and a woman other than the Queen.

A new 10-dollar bill has been unveiled to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confederation.

The mostly purple note includes the faces of four federal political figures the Bank of Canada says helped shape the country -- Sir John A. Macdonald, Sir George-Etienne Cartier, Agnes Macphail, and James Gladstone.

The commemorative note will be released in June, and won't replace the existing design.
