Former Truro Alliance Church building to be converted into residential units

Truro Town Council is considering a recommendation by staff to approve a development agreement for multi-unit residential buildings on the former Truro Alliance Church properties.

The application from Meech Holdings Limited proposed converting the former church building on Phillip Street into seven units and then constructing a new four-unit building in the property behind it.

The converted building would consist of four two-bedroom units and three one-bedroom units.

The new building would be townhouse style, with two-bedrooms and a garage.

If approved, the work could begin this fall and be open for people to move into next spring.

The Truro Alliance Church temporarily moved services to Arthur Street in February after decades in the Phillip Street location.

A new church is expected to begin within the next few months on Truro Heights Road.
