Funding announced for Pugwash Farmers Market project

The Pugwash Farmers Market Cooperative Limited is receiving funding for permanent kiosks to prevent service disruptions due to inclement weather.

Cumberland-Colchester MP Bill Casey recently announced $59,000 through ACOA's Innovative Communities Fund toward the project.

The Municipality of the County of Cumberland provided $38,616 and the Pugwash Farmers Market Cooperative Limited raised $20,000.

A news release says the Farmers Market will build three permanent kiosks, with electrical connections and lights.

Cumberland Warden Al Gillis says this project will improve the market and attract more vendors and consumers to the village.
