Gas up 7.2 c/L overnight

The price of gas has taken a major jump overnight.

The price per litre of regular self-serve gas is up 7.2 cents in the Truro area to an even $1.14 Friday morning.

Diesel is up 1.6 c/L to $1.043.

The Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board points to an increase from last week of 5.7 c/L in the benchmark price for regular gas.

That number is based on the average of the average daily high and low price for the product for the week ending Wednesday.
