Government boosts Film and Television Production Incentive Fund
The Nova Scotia Film and Television Production Incentive Fund is increasing by $6 million to a total of $26 million for 2018-19.
The province says the boost is being done to meet greater demand and local spending from the sector.
Business Minister Geoff MacLellan says, "This is another sign of strong activity from film and television producers, which is good news for the province's creative economy."
The fund, introduced in July 2015, provides between 25 and 32 per cent of eligible costs such as labour, goods, and services purchased from a Nova Scotia-based supplier.
So far in the 2018-19 fiscal year, government says Nova Scotia Business Inc. has announced 43 productions, providing $18.4 million in funding commitments.
