Halifax District RCMP needs help to identify assault suspect

Halifax District RCMP need the public's help to identify a man wanted in connection with an assault at a local bar.

Officers responded to a disturbance at a bar on Sackville Drive just after 2:00 a.m. on January 27.

Police say they arrived on scene and dispersed the crowd, and some of the parties involved in the disturbance had left the scene prior to their arrival.

RCMP say their investigation determined a man was assaulted by two other men, and identified one of the suspects as 20-year-old Alexander Marsman of Lakeside.

Police say Marsman was arrested on February 20 and appeared in court later that day on charges of Assault and Breach of Recognizance.

Marsman was remanded into custody and will appear in court again on March 13.

RCMP say they need help to identify the second suspect, who is described as being in his mid-20s, 6' tall with black hair and facial hair.

If you have any information about the incident or if you can identify the man in the picture at the top of this article, you are asked to contact Halifax District RCMP or call Crime Stoppers.

The victim in the assault went to hospital where he was treated for non life-threatening injuries.
