Halifax man arrested for recent theft in Lower Sackville
Police say a Halifax man has been arrested after he left a store in Lower Sackville without paying.
RCMP say a male entered a business on Sackville Drive just after 1:30 p.m. on April 23 and left without paying for over $400 worth of merchandise.
Police say they identified a suspect over the course of their investigation.
Members of the West Division Quick Response Unit of the Halifax Regional Police located the suspect on Spencer Avenue at approximately 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday May 1, but the suspect fled.
RCMP say Halifax Regional Police K9 Recon and his handler attended, tracked and located the suspect near Williams Lake Road in Halifax and the suspect was arrested without incident.
28-year-old Christopher Joseph Young of Halifax is facing the following charges:
- Theft Under $5000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order (2 counts)
Police say Young remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on May 8.
