Halifax police charge man for fleeing custody
Halifax Police have charged a man for fleeing a correctional facility in Dartmouth.
Police received a report around 9:00 a.m. on May 26 that 35-year-old Joshua James Turner had left the Jamieson Community Correctional Centre in Dartmouth.
Turner had been deemed a high-risk to reoffend relating to sexual and violent offences.
Police say he was arrested at around 2:40 p.m. in Dartmouth after a tip from the public.
Turner appeared in court Friday to face a charge of breaching a long-term supervision order.
