Halifax police probe cemetery vandalism

Halifax police are appealing to the public for help as they investigate vandalism at a historic cemetery in the city.

Investigators say a number of headstones were knocked over at the Mount Olivet Cemetery sometime overnight on Saturday, leaving one of them damaged.

Police say they are taking the matter very seriously in light of the disrespectful nature of the incident and given the cemetery's historic significance to the community.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Halifax police or Crime Stoppers.
