Halifax police search for group of teenagers accused of swarming and stabbing a man

Halifax police are looking for a group of teenagers accused of swarming a 40-year-old man and stabbing him before making of with his knapsack.

They say the man was near Thistle Street and Wyse Road just before 6:30 Sunday night when he was surrounded by seven young people who asked for cigarettes.

Police say one of the teens stabbed him with a knife before the group allegedly took his pack and left.

The man was treated in hospital for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
