Halifax police warn of fake American currency
Halifax Regional Police are warning of the presence of fake American currency in the area.
Police say in a news release that there have been at least eight reports of counterfeit American bills since February 24th in $20, $50 and $100 in denominations.
The Bank of Canada website has a number of tips to help people determine the legitimacy of currency.
Police remind the public that you will not be reimbursed if you unknowingly accept a counterfeit bill, and that passing counterfeit money is a crime.
