Heavy rain and strong winds for Nova Scotia Saturday

Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for most of Nova Scotia.

The warning was Issued just before 5 a.m. Saturday morning, and calls for up 40 mm of rain by the end of the day.

Forecasters say these amounts are on top of what already fell Friday.

Additionally, wind warnings have been issued for Cumberland County and northern sections of Cape Breton Island.

Environment Canada says wind speeds could hit 100 km/h and are warning of the potential damage they can cause.

A rainfall warning has been issued for the following areas:
- Annapolis County
- Colchester County - Cobequid Bay
- Colchester County - Truro and south
- Cumberland County - Minas Shore
- Digby County
- Guysborough County
- Halifax County - east of Porters Lake
- Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
- Hants County
- Kings County
- Lunenburg County
- Queens County
- Shelburne County
- Yarmouth County

The following areas are under a wind warning:
- Cumberland County - Minas Shore
- Cumberland County North and Cobequid Pass
- Inverness County - Mabou and north 
- Victoria County
