Help RCMP find 'Shorty' the fisherman statue

Halifax District RCMP are requesting assistance from the public to locate a wooden fisherman statue that they say was taken from the front yard of a residence on Peggy's Cove Road.

Police say the statue, known as "Shorty" was taken sometime in the 24-hour period between 8:00 a.m. on Monday and 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

"Shorty" is described as being 5'2" tall with a trunk like build and weighing 120lbs, with long brown hair and a brown beard.

RCMP say the statue is clothed like a fisherman wearing a yellow sou'wester, a fisherman's sweater, yellow fishing waders and black rubber boots.
