HMCS Fredericton returns to Royal Canadian Navy

The Halifax shipyard is celebrating the handover of H-M-C-S Fredericton to the Royal Canadian Navy following the completion of an extensive maintenance period.

The Irving owned facility says the work included routine maintenance and upgrades to ensure the longevity of the Halifax-class frigate.

More than 400 of Halifax Shipyard's 19-hundred employees worked on the ship.

There were also over 45 Nova Scotia-based suppliers working with Halifax Shipyard on the Fredericton docking work period, including Maritime Pressure Works, MacKinnon and Olding, C-M-S Steel Pro, Fleetway, and Gil-Son Construction, among others.
