Human remains discovered in Cape Breton

Cape Breton Regional Police are investigating the discovery of human remains in a wooded area in Sydney.

Police say two people out for a walk along Ash Street spotted what they believed to be either clothing or human remains around 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Members of the Major Crimes Unit, along with Medical Examiner crews, responded to the scene.

The remains will be sent to Halifax for an autopsy scheduled for Monday.

Police say their investigation is ongoing.
