Immigration staff meeting with U.K. doctors

The provincial government is continuing efforts to recruit doctors from the United Kingdom.

Staff from the Office of Immigration are heading back to London this week to reconnect with doctors met during a job fair in England last fall.

Government says one-on-one meetings with the doctors will centre around the new Physician Stream launched last month, which aims to make the immigration process easier and faster.

The new stream targets internationally trained doctors who have already received approved job offers from the Nova Scotia Health Authority or the IWK Health Centre.

The province says staff will be returning to the United Kingdom in April to attend another physician recruitment mission.
