Immigration to Nova Scotia continues to rise
The province continues to break records with the number of immigrants choosing to live here.
A release says Nova Scotia has welcomed 3,393 new residents so far this year, which is more than for the same period last year.
Immigration Minister Lena Metlege Diab says, "With our settlement partners, employers and communities, we are attracting and retaining new residents that help revitalize our communities and businesses."
Nova Scotia's retention rate remains strong at 71%, which is the highest in the region.
The province says a total of 5,970 new permanent residents arrived in 2018, with more than 67% of them approved through provincial programs and the Atlantic Immigration Pilot.
